Huntingdon Valley PA, April 30, 2007 - AlphaLit, a division of Alpha Systems and a nationally recognized full service provider of litigation support services, today announced the release of E-Direct 2.1 with new features that streamline the electronic discovery process. The new features include Document Level Coding and Coding Rule Protocols.
"These new features are a direct result of the best practices we've developed jointly with our client base," said Dale Drury, Vice President of AlphaLit. "We use a common sense approach to software development building straight forward, easy to use interfaces, supported with powerful functionality and performance, but always with an eye towards simplicity."
The exciting new features of E-Direct 2.1 enable attorneys to increase review efficiency and easily manage, organize and control the review process. This new release builds on the innovative core functions already available in E-Direct, which include native or tiff review, user definable coding interface, full featured searching capabilities, batch coding, redaction, printing and exporting.
Enhanced feature highlights include:
Document Level Coding: E-Direct allows users to code emails at the document level, the family level or a combination of the two. In addition, we've added standard searches that display families with conflicting designations so that users can ensure the accuracy and consistency of their review and production.
Coding Rules Protocol: A new Coding Rule wizard has been added to E-Direct. This allows administrators to have greater control over project rules and to enforce actions which increase the overall accuracy of the review. For example, mandatory fields can be set; dependent fields can be set, (if you code Privileged, you must code a reason), the administrator can set actions like pop-up reminders or actually stop reviewers from moving to the next document until the proper adjustment is made. The rules wizard automatically analyzes the rules, as they are created, to ensure that there are no conflicts. It also allows for reviewer feedback and will execute based on the level of the reviewer.
Enhanced Security: Upon login the user is prompted to change their password to a password with strong definition rules. Once changed, E-direct will encrypt and store your credentials.
Additional Functionality: E-Direct 2.1 has many other additional features that have been added including production filtering, select all custodians, a search hits indicator, Expand /Collapse buttons, real time reporting.
About E-Direct: E-Direct is the flagship native review product of AlphaLit, and is a popular component of the time-tested workflows and processes offered by AlphaLit. With E-Direct, legal teams can quickly gain secure, 24-hour access to their electronic evidence before the time-consuming and expensive process of converting the documents to image.
